We studied existing crowdfunding models and created a new model specifically for the needs of social initiatives. Each campaign on StartSomeGood identifies two fundraising goals: An intial funding goal (the tipping point) and a stretch goal.

Tipping Point: The tipping point is the threshold amount that is needed to start doing real, tangible good. It is an all-or-nothing goal, which means if you don't reach this amount, you won't receive any funds and your donors' accounts will not be charged. The tipping point must be a minimum of 25% of the stretch goal.

Stretch Goal: While the tipping point goal reflects what you need to get things started, your stretch goal gives you an opportunity to be ambitious and give you supporters a reason to continue to contribute after you’ve hit your initial goal.
